At Coverings 2021, we honored nine outstanding projects that demonstrated spectacular craftsmanship and creativity in the use of tile & stone. This week we’re putting the spotlight on the Residential Tile Installation winner.

Tarkus Tile was hired to do all the tile work in this 10,000-sf new home in Bountiful, Utah. They logged about 1,300 hours between the six custom bathrooms and this indoor pool and steam room area, where they spent about four months.

This area is the client’s ultimate man cave. He wanted a relaxing space to exercise, watch the news, swim, and unwind in the steam room. He wanted it to be perfect!

The indoor pool room required an extensive amount of research, troubleshooting, and thinking outside the box. Much of the construction was done before Tarkus Tile was hired, so there was some serious TLC to make things work with the installation of the over 2,800 square feet of 24×48 tiles on the pool deck, walls, and steam room.
