Ceramics of Italy is proud to sponsor the Coverings Showcase for the 8th year in a row with a vignette situated inside the new Installation & Design Experience (IDE) at Coverings. This year, the Italian Association of Ceramics has partnered with Glenda Wright from Orlando-based architecture firm HHCP to bring the concept of a Hidden Oasis Vignette to life with a design that showcases the beauty and versatility of Italian tile products in an outdoor setting. A team of NTCA FiveStar Contractors from Nichols Tile & Terrazzo Co. will install these products in Booth 3538.

The Installation & Design Experience is an annual live-action demonstration that provides an opportunity for Coverings attendees to experience innovative installation systems and cutting-edge tile products first-hand. For the 10th annual edition, IDE will present a series of state-of-the-art vignettes, designed by local designers and installed by NTCA FiveStar Contractors, that demonstrate the synergy between great design and expert installation. Attendees are encouraged to visit IDE in Booth 3538 throughout the show to see the step-by-step construction of the space and learn about the importance of proper installation techniques.

The lead designer on the project, Glenda Wright, explains, “I was inspired by the incredible variety of colors, patterns, textures, sizes and thicknesses that Ceramics of Italy tile offers. From the warm wood and soothing stone looks to the playful foliage print, the space is transformed into a secluded Italian villa retreat.”

The Hidden Oasis Vignette will feature a wide variety of Italian tile, as well as Proflex grout and setting products throughout the space. Upon entering, visitors will be captivated by a lively water feature on the back wall, outfitted with geometric patchwork tiles from Marazzi’s D_Segni collection and Atlas Concorde’s Mek mosaic tiles in a muted blue shade. The back wall will be clad with Lea Ceramiche’s Slimtech Concreto tiles, and La Fabbrica Agorà outdoor pavers will give the impression of an outdoor space. Wood-look tiles from Ceramiche Caesar’s Arthis collection will lend a natural feel to the vignette, covering the left wall and raised floor beneath a daybed from Sunbrite Outdoor Furniture. Visitors can lounge here, or take a seat on a bench furnished with AVA’s large-format Contemporanei Skyline slabs. Finally, ABK’s Wide & Style Dark Edition will complete the design with a floral graphic wall, transporting visitors to a relaxing tropical retreat.

“This vignette demonstrates that tile is a durable, water-resistant and low-maintenance choice that lends itself perfectly to the creation of an exterior space where one can relax and unwind while enjoying the soothing sounds of a water feature,” said Wright.
