As we at Crossville look back on Coverings 2012, we’re reminded why this show is such a cornerstone of our outreach each and every year. We deepened personal connections, held a grand show-and-tell of new products, helped make it ‘hip to be (Green) Squared,’ and furthered our sustainability message in big ways.
The Customer Connection
Coverings is an annual convergence of our customers and provides the opportunity to be face-to-face with those who take our products to market and help us determine the next steps for product development and design. It’s true that you can’t put a price tag on relationship building, and in this fast-paced world of texts, tweets and emails, we greatly appreciate the quality, in-person time that Coverings offers.
Latest and Greatest
Coverings can feel at little like Christmas time for us, as we finally get to unwrap our latest product lines to share with the world. This year, we especially appreciated the reception our new Shades by Crossville? This new line features nine colors, anchored by six shades of gray in warm and cool tones. We got such interest in the product that we had to pull samples set aside for marketing materials to send to potential customers looking to specify the product.
Announcement of TCNA’s Green Squared Certification
We were honored to be part of the big news shared by the Tile Council of North America regarding the launch of the Green Squared certification for our industry. At last, we have a standard for sustainability for the tile industry, making it much simpler for product specifiers to know that what they’re choosing hits all the right marks environmentally. As the first manufacturer to achieve Green Squared certification across all our U.S.-made product lines, we proudly support this important initiative.
Spreading the Message on Sustainability
Coverings was a wonderful forum to share more and more about our commitment to sustainability. We earned two Project Green awards at the show (for the San Francisco International Airport Terminal 2 and the John C. Kluczynski Federal Building in Chicago), allowing us the chance to share these stories in a live seminar. Likewise, a chance encounter with another Coverings speaker, Patricia Gaylor, opened the door for us to set the record straight about our recycling capabilities and landed a nice feature in the K+BB Collective (read it here).
Of course, we’re excited about what Coverings 2013 will hold for our company. One thing’s for sure; it’s going to be a ‘peach’ of a show! Come see us in Atlanta at Coverings 2013 from April 29th through May 2nd!
